Majesty in Repose finds grandeur in stillness — the Southwest landscape at rest, its scale and beauty present without drama or urgency. Robertson's gouache brings a soft, contemplative quality to the subject, the matte surface of the medium lending the scene a quietness that feels entirely right. A painting about the kind of majesty that doesn't announce itself.

Original gouache, 4.75"H × 6.75"W. Available through Sage Creek Gallery.
